L\u2019acqua tra geopolitica, diritti, arte e spiritualit\u00e0\u201d by Fausta Speranza (Infinito edizioni)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"en\/ambasciata\/news\/dall-ambasciata\/2022\/07\/presentazione-del-libro-di-fausta.html\">The book was presented in July at the same venue, in the presence of the Vatican\u2019s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Before the delivery of the award, Ambassador Valkenburg recalled the close interconnection \u2013 highlighted in the book\u2013 between the theme of water and some issues of international importance such as the protection of human rights and climate change. The Ambassador stressed <strong>the strategic importance of water for the<\/strong> <strong>European Union<\/strong>, particularly for sustainable development, poverty reduction, food and nutrition security, human development, environment and climate action, protection of biodiversity and ecosystems, humanitarian action for peace and stability; and the importance of water as a <strong>human right<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The author Fausta Speranza stated, in her intervention, that the idea of the book came to her while reading the <strong><a href=\"en\/i-temi-internazionali\/un-ecologia-integrale.html\">Encyclical <em>Laudato S\u00ec<\/em> by Pope Francis<\/a><\/strong>, particularly from the concept that \u201c<strong>everything is interconnected<\/strong>\u201d, that is to say that <em>\u201cyou can\u2019t think about natural system without considering social systems and vice versa\u201d<\/em>. She added, <em>\u201cThe Encyclical Laudato S\u00ec warns us that \u2013 with global challenges and relationships, and inequalities too deep to be sustainable \u2013 only a cultural horizon focused on the defense of the common good can save the mankind.
