Francesco Soddu, Director of Caritas Italiana and Prof. Pasquale Tridico, president of INPS<\/strong> (National Institute for Social Security), talked about &#8220;<strong>Institutions and the fight against poverty<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On that occasion, <strong>Ambassador Pietro Sebastiani conferred the honor of Commander of the Order of the Star of Italy on Mons. Soddu<\/strong> for his outstanding professional competence and dedication to the leadership of the <em>Caritas<\/em> Italiana since 2012 in multiple fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Explaining the reasons of the award, Ambassador Sebastiani highlighted the countless activities of <em>Caritas<\/em> Italiana to alleviate poverty and social exclusion, help populations affected by natural disasters, assist asylum seekers through the &#8220;humanitarian corridors&#8221; in agreement with the Italian government. He also recalled Mons. Soddu\u2019s commitment for and with young people by means of hundreds of projects on the ground.
