On Thursday, 6 July, this Embassy hosted, at Palazzo Borromeo, a lecture by Prof. Evan Feigenbaum entitled “Why America risks losing Asia and what it can do about it” as part of the TOChina Summer School. A project – whose scientific coordinator is Prof. Giovanni Andornino – set up by the University of Turin in collaboration with the ESCP Business School (Turin Campus) and the Torino World Affairs Institute (T. wai), to promote an innovative model of academic cooperation with selected Chinese partners such as Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University and Guangdong Foreign Studies University.

The project aims to study the relationship between China’s long-term structural transformations in socio-political, economic and cultural terms, and the particularly salient trends that are currently informing international debates. Members of the TOChina Summer School are academics and policy experts from a variety of fields, including Economics, Economic History, International Relations, International Political Economy, Political Philosophy and Culture, Political Science and Sociology.

The 17th edition of the School was held both face-to-face, in Turin and Rome, and online, from Monday 26 June to Friday 7 July 2023 and received the patronage of SISP (Italian Society of Political Science) and its Permanent Group on International Relations.
