Ambassador Pietro Sebastiani wanted to thank MPW Italy for the work done “to resolve the issues of integration and inequalities, crucial for the very survival of the democratic exercise”. The Ambassador also underlined “the importance of women empowerment but also of the civic sense of each with respect to the major issues, suggested by the papal encyclicals Fratelli Tutti and Laudato Sì, from which the 2030 agenda has been drawn heavily”.

The event was attended by Dr. Francesca Di Giovanni, Vatican Undersecretary of State for the multilateral sector. Also present were: Monica Parrella, President of the MPW Board; Francesco Bonini, Rector of the LUMSA University (Free University of Maria SS. Assunta); Enrico Gambardella, President of WWI (Winning Women Institute); Sahraa Karimi, Director. The conduction was entrusted to Alma Maria Grandin, journalist of Tg1 RAI and member of the MPW Board.

During the meeting, awards and other special prizes were handed over to women representing various sectors of the economy, including start-ups, and who distinguished themselves in particular for their ability to face the challenges imposed by the pandemic: Tiziana Monterisi, Takoua Ben Mohamed, Flaminia Catteruccia.
