On June 7th, 2021, Professor Francesco Bonini, Rector of LUMSA (Free University of Maria SS. Assunta) and Antonella Sabrina Florio, entrepreneur and Vice President of Unindustria, dialogued at Palazzo Borromeo about “University and the business world. New post-Covid 19 perspectives”. Moderation was entrusted to Maurizio Caprara, journalist for the Corriere della Sera.
On that occasion, the Ambassador of Italy to the Holy See Pietro Sebastiani awarded Professor Francesco Bonini with the honor of Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy for his absolute relevance in the Roman and Italian academic scene and for his constant and constructive engagement in civil society.
Explaining the motivation for the award of the honor, Ambassador Sebastiani highlighted the highly qualified academic profile of Professor Buonomo – which earned him the prestigious appointment in 2014 of Rector of the LUMSA University – and his involvement in numerous institutions and associations such as the Italian society for the study of contemporary history and the Italian society for the history of institutions. Professor Bonini is a member of the National Olympic Academy and president of the Italian Society of Sports History and of the Italian Association of Historians of Political Institutions. He also held positions at the Italian Episcopal Conference.
